After Seago No. 2

After Seago No. 2

Moody skies, visible brushstrokes and wonderful earthy tones shape this stormy landscape painting. Mounted to black card, the scene takes on a cinematic feel - almost as if it's a still found on vintage film - and the more you look at it, the more there is to see. Travel layer by layer through the painting and find your eyes drawn to the cold, still water in the foreground, the distant towns in the background and everything in between.

I personally find myself not tiring of this view. The slight pinks in the sky, the stillness of the water and the brewing storm remind me of a cold and yet-undisturbed winter morning where the sun has almost finished rising and the people in the distant homes may just be beginning to stir and start with their day's rituals - make the bed, heat the home, cook some porridge.

Oil paint on watercolour paper mounted to black, A4 card. Satin Varnish. Unframed. Original. 2025.
